Pune, 13 Aug (HS): Realising the issues confronting the Purvanchal, RSS volunteers worked to earn the confidence of people there, and then worked to solve their problems, said RSS National Executive Member Bhaiyaji Joshi.
Joshi was speaking
during a function in Pune to release books ‘My Journey as Pracharak’ (English)
and Marathi translation ‘Mazi Pracharak Yatra’ authored by Shashikant Chauthaiwale,
who was RSS Pracharak for 64 years in Purvanchal. The book release programme
was organised by My Home India and Bharatiya Vichar Sadhana (BVS).
Chauthaiwale, who turns 88 on August 14, was felicitated on the occasion. RSS
West Zone Pracharak Sumant Amshekar, BJP’s former National Secretary Sunil
Deodhar, and BVS President Dr Girish Afale were the guests of honour.
Joshi said RSS
volunteers worked facing insult, negligence, and lack of basic facilities.
Through schools and service projects they worked to resolve the differences and
motivated them to find solutions to their problems. Most of the problems in
Assam are on the way to be resolved. Shashikant Chauthaiwale is a representative of
the dedicated work of RSS volunteers in that region.
The work by RSS is
not of an individual, but the organisation works, taking all in its fold. The
work continued even when terrorists killed some of the volunteers, said
Amshekar. The books are an account of the dedicated work.
Deodhar also
expressed his views. Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale said that the book enlivens the
experience of Shashikant while working in Purvanchal.
Delhi’s Prabhat Prakashan
published the English version. Prof Shivshankar Mujumdar translated the book.
