Kolkata, 13 August (H.S.): West Bengal government has made it mandatory to show Bengali films daily in all the cinemas and multiplexes of the state during prime time. This has been clearly stated in a notification issued by the state's Information and Culture Department on Wednesday. Minister Arup Biswas gave this information in a press conference at Nandan-Tin Hall on Wednesday afternoon. The directive signed by Principal Secretary of the Information and Culture Department, Shantanu Basu, states that this decision has been taken for the revival of Bengali cinema.
It will be mandatory to show at least one Bengali film in prime time show 365 days a year in all the cinemas and multiplexes of the state and from now on as it has been made mandatory. The time from 3 pm to 9 pm every day has been fixed as prime time.
