BTC Elections: Chirang District Releases Final Voter List

Chirang (Assam), 13 August (HS): The Chirang district administration on Wednesday released the final voter list for seven council constituencies ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections. The release took place at the Commissioner’s office in Kajalgaon, with District Commissioner and District Election Officer Jatin Bora officiating the announcement in the presence of political party representatives.

The constituencies covered include the 13th Chirang, 14th Chirang Duar, 15th Kajalgaon, 16th Nisma, 17th Subaijhar, 18th Manas Sengfang and Thuribari. A total of 398,332 voters are registered this year, comprising 198,332 male voters, 203,009 female voters and two from the third gender.

Compared to 2020, the district has added 31,920 voters—a growth of 8.5%. DC Bora attributed the increase largely to new college-age voters, crediting awareness drives in educational institutions for the surge in registrations.
