Malda, 9 July (H.S.) Locals thrashed a Toto driver for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old minor girl in Harkalatola area of Kari Chandpur under Kaliachak police station in Malda district on Wednesday. A police officer and several civics volenteers were injured while trying to rescue the accused. A large police force arrived at the spot to control the situation. The accused was then rescued from the angry crowd and brought to the police station.

Locals alleged that a 50-year-old Toto driver misbehaved with a 10-year-old minor girl while taking her to school in the area. This came to the notice of many people. They then caught the Toto driver and thrashed him. A district police source said that an investigation has been initiated into the entire matter. The accused is currently being questioned.
