Lucknow, 9 July (HS): In Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that the state is on
track to break a new record by planting more than 37 crore saplings in a single
day as part of the ongoing Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. In a tweet
on social networking site X, the chief minister stated that Uttar Pradesh would
achieve a new milestone today, July 9, 2025, as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke
Naam' campaign.
Under
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership and inspiring direction,
the state has successfully planted more than 204 million trees over the
previous eight years, boosting forest cover by an extra five lakh acres. In
continuance of this initiative, we intend to plant more than 37 crore saplings
across the state in a single day, said the chief minister, while inviting people to join the campaign and show
their appreciation to Mother Earth and their own moms via environmental
conservation. Using the campaign
hashtag #EkPedMaKeNaam, Adityanath encouraged Indians to participate in the
drive as a mark of respect to maternal figures and environment. In another tweet, the chief minister
published a message, in which he wrote for a renowned Hindi daily, titled
Aaiye Karen Vasudha Ka Harit Shringaar (Let us decorate the land
with greenery). He remarked,
referring to the state's yearly plantation campaign, The Plantation
Campaign-2025 begins on July 9. We
are not only planting saplings; we are planting for the future and ideals.
