Karbi Anglong (Assam), 9 July (HS): Sensation spread in the area after a woman's decomposed body was recovered from Bornia area under Barpathar police station in Karbi Anglong district.

Police said on Wednesday that the woman named Parula Das (60) of Nagakholi village was missing for the last two days. As soon as the local people got information about the woman's body being seen in the Dhanshri river, the police team reached the spot and recovered the body of the woman.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the relatives of the missing woman reached the spot. After seeing the body of the dead woman recovered, some relatives said that this body is not of the missing Rupali Das, although most people said that the body is of Rupali Das. Local people say that the body has decomposed a lot, due to which there is difficulty in identifying it.

The police has taken the body in its possession and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem. The police has registered an FIR in this regard and is engaged in identifying the deceased.
