Mumbai, 09 July (HS): The situation in East Vidarbha, facing floods, is under control. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and

State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are prepared for any kind of action. This

was stated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the Legislative Assembly on

Wednesday.

The issue of floods in East Vidarbha was raised by

Congress leader Nana Patole.

Fadnavis informed the House that some travellers stranded

in the state transport bus were shifted to safer places. The Gadchiroli-Nagpur

(Armori) Road is closed. The traffic on the alternative road, however, has not

been affected. Villagers up to Gadchiroli have been alerted following the discharge

of water from the Gosekhurd dam.

Fadnavis also informed about waterlogging in Nagpur

and the machinery concerned is taking adequate care. One person was reported to

have been flown away. An orange alert has been issued in Nagpur. He also
