Mumbai, 09 July (HS): The situation in East Vidarbha, facing floods, is under control. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and
State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are prepared for any kind of action. This
was stated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the Legislative Assembly on
Wednesday.
The issue of floods in East Vidarbha was raised by
Congress leader Nana Patole.
Fadnavis informed the House that some travellers stranded
in the state transport bus were shifted to safer places. The Gadchiroli-Nagpur
(Armori) Road is closed. The traffic on the alternative road, however, has not
been affected. Villagers up to Gadchiroli have been alerted following the discharge
of water from the Gosekhurd dam.
Fadnavis also informed about waterlogging in Nagpur
and the machinery concerned is taking adequate care. One person was reported to
have been flown away. An orange alert has been issued in Nagpur. He also
appealed to the people to take all precautions.
