Lucknow,

26 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a big

announcement on Saturday. He said that our government has decided that when the

soldiers who are contributing to the country's forces as Agniveer retire, we

are making a provision of 20 percent reservation for such soldiers in the Uttar

Pradesh Police Force. On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025, in a program

organized at Kargil Shaheed Smriti Vatika in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi paid

tribute to the martyred soldiers by offering floral tributes and honored their

families. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi praised the valour of Indian

Army.

Addressing

the program, Chief Minister Yogi said that today is the day to remember the

great brave sons of India. On this day, India surprised the world by defeating

Pakistan by completing Operation Vijay. We salute those brave sons of India.

This day is also a symbol of the valor of the Indian Army. He said that the

Kargil war was imposed on India by Pakistan, to which our brave soldiers gave a

befitting reply. Information was received about infiltration on the hills. The

army informed the government. After this, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee

took action to clear the misunderstanding after the attack. On this day, Kargil

Vijay was announced by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Chief

Minister Yogi said that after coming to power, some people work to destroy the

social fabric with the help of casteism and nepotism. Whenever we get caught in

the clutches of people of such tendency, we have to pay a heavy price. We have

no dearth of warriors, glory and intelligence but during that time some people

worked to divide the country for their own benefit, due to which the country

became a slave. Even today some political parties are working to divide. Even

during that time division was our weakness. We need to avoid division again. We

have to move forward unitedly to make Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat capable and

strong. This is also the message of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Referring

to 'Operation Sindoor', Chief Minister Yogi said that through 'Operation

Sindoor' you have honored the valour of India And you must have seen the

valour. It did not take even 22 minutes for the Indian army to teach a lesson

to the entire Pakistan. Pakistan's terrorist camp was destroyed. Prime Minister

Narendra Modi had also said that those who dared to do this in Pulwama will

have to pay the price. Seeing the courage and valour of the Indian army,

Pakistan went to America for refuge. India was fighting many countries on one

front. Despite this, Pakistan could not do anything in front of the Indian army.

Then finally Pakistan was forced to surrender.

Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath said that if our soldier is martyred in any war or

while protecting the border, then the state government is giving an assistance

of Rs 50 lakh to his family. Along with this, one member of that family also

gets a job. Apart from this, since 2017, our government has also ensured that

to carry forward the memory of the martyred soldier, a grand memorial,

institute or a road will be named after that soldier in the village, city or

town where he belongs. The government has decided that the soldiers who are

contributing to the country's army as Agniveer, a provision has been made to

give them 20 percent reservation in the Uttar Pradesh Police Force.

Chief

Minister Yogi and Mayor Sushma Kharkwal honored the families of the martyrs on

the stage during the program. The families of Captain Manoj Pandey, Lance Naik

Kewalanand Dwivedi, Rifleman Sunil Jung and Major Ritesh Sharma were present at

the program.
