Amravati, 26 July (HS): “Freedom, equality and

brotherhood are three pillars of democracy. These values are the essence of the

Constitution of India, and the judiciary is committed to protecting them” said

Chief Justice of India Justice Bhushan Gavai.

Justice Gavai unveiled the foundation stone of the new

building of the District and Sessions Court and Civil Court at Daryapur in

Amravati District. MP Balwant Wankhade, MLA Gajanan Lawte, Justice Anil Kilor and

Justice Pravin Patil of the Bombay High Court, Daryapur Bar Association

President Dharmendra Athawale, and others were present.

The judiciary is the soul of democracy, and should

continue to deliver justice honestly in consonance with the Constitution.

Several laws have been drafted to promote the development of all sections and

the nation. Everyone should realise and honestly follow the fundamental rights

and corresponding duties as mentioned in the Constitution, CJI Gavai said.

“I am proud to belong to Daryapur and just as my

father frequently visited the village, I too make a point to come here and will

continue to do so”, Justice Gavai said. “After my retirement, I will not accept

any official post and will visit Daryapur more often”, he added
