Mumbai, 26 July (HS): Another threat to blast Mumbai
Airport was received on Friday night. The Mumbai Police and Bomb Detection and
Disposal Squad searched for any suspected objects throughout the night. The
threat finally turned out to be fake, as no suspicious object was found.
Mumbai Police on Saturday said that three phone
calls were received by the Police Control Room. The caller(s) used different phone
numbers to make the calls, and claimed that a bomb had been placed at Terminal 2 and would blast within a short time.
The security agencies, the dog squad, BDDS, and the Airport
Security Agency swung into action immediately and launched the search
operation. The search operation ended on Saturday morning, as nothing
suspicious was found anywhere in the airport premises.
Investigation revealed that the caller was the same
person who used three different phone numbers. The Cyber Cell is trying to
identify the caller.
