Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated annually on July 26 in India to commemorate the victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War, which expelled Pakistani forces from strategic positions in Ladakh's Northern Kargil District. Initially, Pakistan denied involvement, attributing the conflict to Kashmiri militants. However, evidence from casualties, POW testimonies, and later admissions from Pakistani leaders revealed the active participation of Pakistani paramilitary forces.
