Bhubaneswar, 26 July (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance has arrested Rama Chandra Nepak, Deputy Ranger of Jeypore Forest Range, Koraput, in connection with a case of possession of disproportionate assets (DA). He will be produced today before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. This information was shared in an official press release issued by the Vigilance Department.

A case has been registered against him under Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 25/2025. According to officials, searches were carried out at multiple locations linked to Nepak, during which significant assets were discovered far beyond his known sources of income.

The Vigilance Department had initiated simultaneous raids on his properties starting Friday. During the course of the operation, authorities seized unaccounted cash amounting to ₹1.43 crore, a multi-storeyed building, three flats, two high-value plots, bank deposits exceeding ₹1.33 crore, 1.504 kg of gold, 4.637 kg of silver, two four-wheelers, and several other valuable assets.

Nepak failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the source of these assets, leading to his arrest.
