Hooghy, 26 July (H.S.) The police of Chuchura police station have arrested four notorious criminals in connection with two separate snatching incidents that took place in Uttarpara and Bandel. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ajit Mandal, Rohan Das, Guddu Swami, and Raj Satra alias Victor.

On the night of July 18, a businessman from Howrah, Rohit Sahu, was returning home via a local train when his mobile phone was snatched at Uttarpara station. While chasing the thief, the businessman sustained injuries. On the same evening, in Kailas Nagar, Bandel, a woman named Anusha Roy was also targeted. A biker snatched her bag which contained a mobile phone, ATM card, Aadhaar card, PAN card, and her house keys.

Acting swiftly, the police arrested the four accused and recovered 10 stolen mobile phones from their possession. During the investigation, it was revealed that the stolen phones were sold to Ajit Mandal, who further distributed them to various locations.

All four accused were produced before the Chuchura court on Saturday. According to police sources, further interrogation may uncover more crucial information related to the gang’s operations.
