Churachandpur (Manipur), 26 July (HS): Manipur Police have busted two separate narcotics smuggling operations in Churachandpur district, arresting three individuals and seizing significant quantities of illegal substances.

In the first operation, police apprehended Hausuanlal Phiamphu (53), a resident of Tonzang village, from Behiang Bus Parking and recovered 168 grams of brown sugar from his possession. Based on his disclosure, police arrested his accomplice, Lamminlal Haokip (33) of Thongkholui village, from near Khenjang village. A Honda Activa scooter allegedly used in the trafficking was also seized from a vehicle parking lot in Central Churachandpur.

In a separate operation, security forces intercepted a Tata truck (registration number MN 01 8567) at the FCP checkpoint in Jiribam district. Upon inspection, 220 kilograms of ganja were recovered from the vehicle. The truck driver, SK Kaphunlung (43) of Khumji village in Noney district, was arrested on the spot.

Police have registered separate cases under the NDPS Act and initiated further investigation.
