After Uriyamghat, Focus Shifts to Nagon for Anti-Encroachment Action

Nagon (Assam), 26 July (HS): After Uriyamghat under Golaghat district, the administration has started preparations to conduct a big encroachment removal drive at two places in Hatichong Mauja of Nagon district in the coming days. Information regarding this has been issued by the Nagon Sadar Revenue Circle Office.

Information has come to light that the administration is conducting an encroachment drive in Government Grazing Reserve No. 72 of Goroimari Pathar of Hatichong Mauja and Government Grazing Reserve No. 62 and 63 of Bagriguri Palm of Hatichong Mauja. Along with the construction of big buildings by occupying the land of the government grazing reserve, ponds have also been dug by suspicious citizens for fish farming.

After the administration issued a notice to vacate the said government land, an atmosphere of confusion has been created in the area.

It is noteworthy that the government has started a massive drive to remove illegal occupants of government and forest land across the state. Congress, AIUDF and other opposition parties are opposing this move of the government, while common citizens are strongly supporting this move of the government.
