Muzaffarnagar,
25 July (HS): A woman's body was discovered hanging from the ceiling of her
home in a village here, with her family alleging that she was murdered by her
in-laws for failing to give birth to a son, police said Friday. Himanshi lived
with her husband and their family in Ghari Sakhvat village, which is part of
the Budhana police station area.
Himanshi's
body was discovered hanging from the ceiling at her in-laws' residence on
Thursday night. Based on her father's
complaint, we have filed a case against her husband Bhagat Singh, his brother
Surat Singh, father Lehri, and mother Shakuntala, according to Station House Officer
(SHO) Anand Dev Mishra.
Himanshi's
father claimed in his lawsuit that his daughter was repeatedly tormented by her
in-laws for failing to give birth to a boy and was eventually murdered. Himanshi married Bhagat Singh on December 6,
2020, and they had two kids, according to the SHO. He stated that the deceased
has been submitted for a post-mortem examination, and Lehri has been detained
for questioning.
