Delhi, 25 July (H.S.): The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has contracted Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for Air Defence Fire Control Radars for the Indian Army, valued at approximately Rs 2,000 crore, classified under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured) category.
Signed on Friday in New Delhi, this deal includes over 70% indigenous content, enabling detection of various aerial threats such as fighter jets and drones. This initiative not only modernizes the Air Defence Regiments but also bolsters indigenous defence industries and supports Indian MSMEs in component manufacturing.
