Hooghy, 25 July (H.S.): A day after making a bold prediction about the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty delivered a fiery message to party workers, urging them to stay grounded and be battle-ready for the political fight ahead.

On Friday, Mithun addressed a joint BJP workers’ conference at Daulatpur in Arambagh, Hooghly district, which included booth-level workers from both Arambagh and Goghat assembly constituencies.

In a strong message, he told party workers, “If you get beaten and return home quietly, nothing will change. You must hit back. Silence and fear won’t win you battles. If you’re stepping into the political field, you must shed your fear.”

Emphasizing the need for active grassroots participation, Mithun called on workers to fight at every booth, saying that mere presence in the field would not suffice. He also addressed internal discontent within the party, inviting workers to directly share their concerns with him. He even shared his personal WhatsApp number with the workers present.

Just a day earlier, on Thursday, Mithun had made headlines during a press conference in Kolkata where he claimed that if “fake voters” were removed from the electoral rolls, the Trinamool Congress would struggle to win even 70 seats in the 2026 assembly polls.

He alleged that West Bengal has the highest number of infiltrators, and these illegal entries were allegedly being encouraged by the ruling party. According to Mithun, these fake voters are significantly influencing election results and that the fall of the TMC was “inevitable.”
