Imphal, 25 July (HS): In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, security personnel nabbed four individuals in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district and seized heroin valued in crores. The operation, conducted on July 24 in T. Khullen village under Kangpokpi Police Station, led to the recovery of a massive stash of narcotics and cash.
Those arrested include three locals of T. Khullen — S. Poubinah Teinamei (31), PF Adaphro (34) and S. Boibina (29) — as well as Lungdinibou Thiumei (52), hailing from Khundong Khunkhaiba in Tamenglong district.
During the search, authorities confiscated 273 soap cases containing heroin, with a total weight of around 3.5 kilograms. They also found ₹99,09,850 in unaccounted cash, along with seven mobile phones and two vehicles — a Hyundai Creta and a DI pickup truck — suspected to have been used in the operation.
The case is under investigation, with officials working to trace the supply chain and uncover the intended recipients of the seized drugs. This bust is seen as a significant strike against the narcotics trade in the northeastern state.
