New Delhi, July 25 (H.S.): The Delhi High Court issued a notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) regarding a petition challenging an order to collect 1.7 million rupees from engineer Rashid, accused in a terror funding case, for participating in Parliament's monsoon session. The hearing, led by Justice Vivek Chaudhary, is set for July 29.

Rashid's lawyer, N. Hariharan, noted that the Patiala House Court ordered this payment as security, hindering Rashid's ability to attend sessions from July 29 to August 4. Previously, Rashid had been allowed to attend Parliament, but the financial demand is impeding his participation. Rashid was arrested by the NIA in 2016 and recently won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections against Omar Abdullah.
