Lucknow,

25 July (HS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati has

today reacted to the central government's statement on the constitution in

Parliament on Thursday. She said that the central government has clarified its

position in accordance with the intent of the constitution in relation to the

latest controversy over the constitution. This is a good thing. Everyone hopes

that the government will maintain its stand without caring or worrying about

anyone.

Former Chief Minister Mayawati posted on X and wrote that the statement

given by the country's Law Minister in Parliament yesterday that, 'The

government has no intention to remove the words 'secularism' from the Preamble

of the Constitution and neither is anything like this under consideration', is

appropriate and commendable.

This is relief news especially for all those

people in the country and the world, including BSP. She wrote that this is a

good assurance, who are completely against any such improper change or

tampering in Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's Constitution. We were also

worried about such wrong demands arising. Anyway, it is well known that our

country India is the country with the largest population of people of different

religions like Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Parsis in the

world. The specialty of unity in diversity through the Constitution is its

unmatched identity in the world. Baba Saheb wrote the Constitution with the

idea of giving equal respect and honour to the followers of all religions and

an egalitarian social system, a glimpse of which is seen at every step in the

Constitution.
