Ballia,
25 July (HS): The Ballia district administration has launched an investigation
into the death of a 95-year-old woman at a Community Health Centre, citing
allegations of medical negligence and a lack of oxygen, officials said
Friday. The widow, Krishnamuni Pathak,
was brought to the CHC by her son, Udit Pathak, after suffering from serious
respiratory problems. According to Udit,
the emergency doctor on duty, Dr. Kazim Ali, was originally absent from the
premises, which allegedly delayed critical oxygen support. As the situation developed, district
officials intervened, with District Magistrate Mangala Prasad Singh ordering a
quick investigation to determine the facts and establish responsibility,
pledging appropriate punishment depending on the results.
