New Delhi, July 24 (H.S.): The Supreme Court has reserved its decision on the petition filed against the bail granted to actor Darshan by the Karnataka High Court in the Renukaswamy murder case. A bench headed by Justice J.B. Pardiwala directed the lawyers representing the accused to submit their written arguments within a week.

On January 24, the Supreme Court had granted relief to actor Darshan, Pavitra Gowda, and five other accused and refused to cancel the bail granted to the accused. The Supreme Court issued notices to all the accused, including actor Darshan, on the petition filed by the Karnataka government against the bail granted to the accused.The Karnataka High Court granted regular bail to Darshan and the other accused on December 13.

Earlier, on October 30, 2024, the High Court had granted Darshan six weeks of interim bail on health grounds. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. The auto driver Renukaswamy was murdered on June 8, 2024.
