Delhi, 25 July (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu of India marked her three-year term on Friday, by engaging in several key initiatives at Rashtrapati Bhavan and its Estates. Notable achievements include declaring a divyangjan-friendly President’s Estate after adopting 50 recommendations from the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities.
Additionally, the President’s official websites were launched in 22 Indian languages. Various facilities were inaugurated for visitors, such as the Visitor Facilitation Centre, a cafeteria, and a renovated gym within the Presidential Estates. The E-Upahaar season 2 initiative was also launched, set to auction over 250 items with proceeds directed to child welfare initiatives. An e-book highlighting the previous year’s presidential activities was released. Efforts to make Rashtrapati Bhavan Net Zero by March 2027 commenced.
In her remarks, President Murmu expressed satisfaction over the increased citizen engagement over the past three years and underscored the aim of integrating all societal segments, particularly underprivileged groups, into the nation’s development. She conveyed optimism for future initiatives aimed at enhancing accessibility and participation in Rashtrapati Bhavan's activities.
