Delhi, 24 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the tragic plane crash in Russia. We stand in solidarity with Russia and its people, PM Modi stated.

The Prime Minister in post on X said:Deeply saddened at the loss of lives in the tragic plane crash in Russia. Extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. We stand in solidarity with Russia and its people.

A Russian Angara Airline An-24 plane crashed in the Amur region, resulting in the deaths of 48 passengers, including five children, and six crew members on Thursday . The aircraft went missing while approaching Tynda, with radar communication lost shortly before the incident. Preliminary reports by TASS attribute the crash to crew error during landing due to poor visibility. The Soviet-made twin-propeller aircraft, which took off from Blagoveshchensk, vanished from radar around 1:00 pm local time. A rescue helicopter later discovered the burning fuselage approximately 15 kilometers south of Tynda's airport, with smoke billowing from the heavily wooded area. Russian investigators later confirmed there were no survivors and noted that fragments of the aircraft were scattered across the crash site. Local governor Vasily Orlov also provided information regarding the flight's disappearance and ongoing rescue efforts.
