10 July (HS): On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Gorakshapeethadhiswar

and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a special poojan of Shivavatar

Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath according to the tradition of Nath sect on Thursday

morning. On this occasion, he offered his respects to his Gurudev Brahmaleen

Mahant Avedyanath, Dadaguru Brahmaleen Mahant Digvijaynath, Yogiraj Baba

Gambhirnath and all the gurus of Nath sect by worshipping them according to the

rituals and expressed gratitude to them for their guidance on the path of

public welfare.

The

special ritual of Guru Purnima started at 5 am in the Gorakhnath temple and the

ritual was completed with a collective aarti. Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended their heartfelt wishes of Guru Purnima

to all the countrymen. Although whenever Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath

is in Gorakhnath temple, darshan and worship of Guru Gorakhnath ji and the

gurus of Nath sect is a part of his daily routine. But, the occasion of Guru

Purnima is a special worship in Gorakhnath temple. On Thursday,

Gorakshapeethadhiswar performed worship with rituals in front of all the idols

of gods present in the temple premises including Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath and

the statues of the gurus of Nath sect amidst Vedic chanting. In the sequence of

ritualistic programs, he first attended the court of Adiguru Bhagwan Gorakhnath

of Nath sect. He worshipped him amidst Vedic chanting. He reached near all the

idols of gods present in the premises and worshipped them. After that he went

to the samadhi of his departed gurus one by one including Baba Gambhirnath, his

grandfather's late Mahant Digvijaynath and Gurudev late Mahant Avedyanath. He

worshipped all of them amid chanting of Vedic mantras and took their blessings.

In the Gorakhnath temple, according to the special tradition of the Nath sect,

mahaprasad of roti was also offered to Guru Gorakhnath. After the ritualistic

process of worship was over, the traditional mahaparati that takes place on

Guru Purnima was performed and faith was expressed to all the gurus.
