Mumbai, 03 June (HS): The Customs Department on
Monday seized 51.94 Kg cocaine worth Rs 51.94 crore from a foreign national at
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
The belongings of the foreign national were searched,
following information received from the Airport Intelligence Unit. Four packets
of Cocaine were concealed in an Ortho Waist Belt and stripes on his legs. The
white powder in the packets was immediately referred for the test using the Narcotic
Field Test Kits. Following confirmation of the Cocaine smuggling, the traveller
was arrested and an offence under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act was
registered.
