Mumbai, 05 June (HS): Following South Solapur, agro malls will be established in every district of the state. These malls will
be erected on a public-private partnership basis, said Adv Manikrao Kokate,
Minister for Agriculture.
Kokate was speaking during a meeting on pending issues in the agriculture field in South Solapur Tehsil, possible solutions, and the Agriculture College in Sangli. South Solapur MLA Subhash Deshmukh, MLA Sadabhau Khot, Agriculture Commissioner Suraj Mandhre, and others
were present.
An Agro Mall and Krishi Bhavan will be erected in Solapur
as a new market for the farmers. The farm produce can be purchased by consumers for a reasonable price. The agricultural equipment and other materials
for farmers will also be available at the Mall. Kokate said the government is
also thinking of implementing the concept of ‘One village, One crop’. He
assured that funds for Krantisinh Nana Patil Food Technology College in Sangli.
The development work should be started immediately, he added.
