Mumbai, 05 June (HS): The crop insurance companies
should dispose of claims related to losses suffered by farmers based on a survey
conducted by the government. No farmer should be deprived of the insurance
benefits, said Agriculture Minister Adv Manikrao Kokate.
Adv Kokate issued instructions during a meeting to
review crop insurance claims and compensation to farmers from Nashik, Nanded
and Parbhani districts. Legislators Baburao Kohalikar, Dr Rahul Aher, Rajesh
Vitekar, Ratnakar Gutte, Agriculture Commissioner Suraj Mandhre, Agriculture
Director E S Naikwadi, Vijaykumar Auli were present. District Collectors of
Nashik, Nanded, and Parbhani attended the meeting in virtual mode.
The claims that have been rejected should be re-examined.
The pending appeals with the insurance company should be disposed of at the
earliest, so that the farmers are not deprived of any benefit, he said.
