Imphal, 5 June (HS): Security forces have recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives during an operation from Yaripok Changmadbi Chingya area (under Andro police station) of Imphal East district.

Police said on Thursday that the recovered items include a 5.56 mm INSAS rifle, a magazine, a lathod gun, 10 live bullets of .303 caliber, 6 live bullets of 7.62 mm and 6 live bullets of 5.56 mm.

Security agencies are investigating the matter as to for what purpose and by whom these weapons and ammunition were hidden. Security has been tightened in the area.---------------
