Kokrajhar (Assam), 15 June (HS): Two notorious human traffickers including a woman have been arrested in an operation by Kazigaon police of Parbatjhora police station area. The arrested accused have been identified as Malek Mandal of Devottar Khopati village and Lal Bhanu of Madati II block.

According to the information, Malek Mandal had tried to sell his own niece outside the state. Police say that the duo of Malek Mandal and Lal Bhanu had planned to push both minor girls of Devottar Khopati village into prostitution in a state outside.

On the basis of the complaint of the family members, Kazigaon police recovered both the minor girls safely from Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. Both the accused were absconding for a long time, but on the information of their return home on the occasion of Eid, the police raided and arrested them.

Kazigaon police produced both of them before the Kokrajhar District Sessions Court and further investigation is underway.---------------
