Nagon (Assam), 15 June (HS): Tension prevailed in every nook and corner of the area during the crime scene recreation conducted by the police in the case of attack on CSP officer Anup De of Punjab National Bank Dubbaka branch.

A large team of Hojai district police, led by Superintendent of Police Saurabh Gupta, brought the accused Habibur Rehman alias Ashadul to the crime scene and made him re-enact the entire incident of the attack. During this, the accused also showed the police the wooden stick used in the attack and told in detail how he had attacked Anup De.

It is noteworthy that on Friday afternoon, in the CSP branch of Punjab National Bank in Dubbaka town, the accused had attacked CSP officer Anup De with a wooden stick over a minor issue. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati in a critical condition, where his condition remains worrisome. According to family members, about 32 stitches have been put on his head.

After the incident, there was a lot of tension in the entire Dubbaka area. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, many senior officers including Superintendent of Police Saurabh Gupta, Additional Superintendent of Police Rupam Bordoloi remained on duty throughout the night. With the help of local people, the accused was arrested in the night itself.

Today, when the police brought the accused for crime scene recreation, hundreds of local men and women gathered at the spot expressed deep anger and demanded strict action against the accused. --------------
