Banda, 15 June (HS): Family feud
took a painful turn in Satar village under Baberu Kotwali area of the
district. Hurt by the quarrel between husband and wife, five daughters left the
house on Saturday. When their mother Gudiya Devi came to know about this, she
went to the fields and committed suicide by consuming sulphas. After this
incident, the police, with the help of Maharashtra Police, five
daughters—Komal, Kajal, Pooja, Viksha and Chhoti—were recovered from Bhusaval
railway station in Maharashtra. On Saturday, when the woman's body was found in
the fields, the villagers informed the family. The family and husband Ramraj
Maurya, who reached the spot, informed the police, after which the police along
with the forensic team reached the spot and after investigation, sent the body
for post-mortem.
As soon as the news of the girls
going missing was received, the police acted swiftly and formed three teams to
start the search. CCTV footage was scanned; the railway station, rivers, fields
and drains were searched. After continuous efforts, on Sunday, 15 June, all
five girls were found safe at Bhusaval railway station in Maharashtra. They
were recovered with the help of Maharashtra police. The Baberu Kotwali police
team has left to bring the girls back.
According to the information, the
deceased's husband Ramraj Maurya had returned home from Surat after working as
a labourer two days ago, on 13 June. From that day onwards, a dispute started
between the husband and wife, which turned into this tragic incident. Police
Circle Officer Saurabh Singh said that the police took immediate action as soon
as the information about the incident was received. After the woman's suicide,
every possible effort was made to search for the girls, and finally success was
also achieved. At present, the police is investigating the matter.
