Darang (Assam), 15 June (HS): A person killed in a tragic incident in Mangaldoi, the district headquarters town of Darang. Mangaldoi Sadar Police said on Sunday that the person killed due to lightning in Mowamari of Mangaldoi late Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as Govind Sarkar. Govind Sarkar's daughter Anamika Sarkar was also seriously injured.

According to the information, Govind Sarkar was working in the field. His daughter Anamika was also helping him in his work. Injured Anamika Sarkar was admitted to the Government Hospital in Mangaldoi.

Later, Anamika has been referred to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment. On the other hand, Govind Sarkar's body was taken to Mangaldoi District Hospital for postmortem. It has been told that after the postmortem, the body will be handed over to the family today.
