Chennai, 15 June (H.S.) : Six flights were cancelled at Chennai International Airport on June 15 due to a shortage of passengers and operational reasons. The cancelled departures include the Chennai-Kozhikode SpiceJet flight scheduled at 9 pm, Chennai-Kochi Air India Express flight scheduled at 8:35 pm, and the Chennai-Sivamugha SpiceJet flight scheduled at 3 pm.
In addition to these, three incoming flights were also cancelled, namely the Kozhikode-Chennai SpiceJet, Andaman-Chennai Akasa Air, and Sivamugha-Chennai SpiceJet flights. Airline sources stated that the cancellations were due to operational reasons and a lack of sufficient passengers.
Passengers who had pre-booked tickets were informed in advance, and alternate arrangements were made for them. The airline officials ensured that the passengers were accommodated on other flights or provided refunds as per the airline's policy.
