Guwahati, 15 June (HS): On the occasion of the death anniversary of Amar Shaheed Kushal Konwar of historic 1942, Kamrup (Metro) District Administration on Sunday remembered the great martyr of the motherland with reverence. Minister of Environment and Forests etc. of the State Government Chandramohan Patwari attended the tribute meeting organized by Kamrup (Metro) District Administration in Nehru Park of the metropolis as the chief guest and paid floral tribute to the statue of Martyr Kushal Konwar.

After paying tribute to Martyr Kushal Konwar, Minister Chandramohan Patwari said that today's holy day reminds us of self-sacrifice for the protection of our own race. The martyr had sacrificed himself smilingly for the service of the country. His self-sacrifice has given us immense inspiration. We all should follow the ideals of such a great, magnificent person.

In the Sarvadharma prayer meeting organized along with the tribute ceremony, the maids of Kasturba Seva Ashram recited the Gita and Upanishad, Hafiz Maulana Mostakim Naziri recited the Quran, Bhagat Singh recited the Sikh religious text, Kshemanand Bhikshu recited the Tripitaka and Deepen Barua recited the Bible.

In this program, Guwahati Municipal Corporation Mayor Mrigen Sharaniya, Vice President Mukut Deka, Metropolitan District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, District Development Commissioner Parijat Bhuinya, District Magistrate Kankan Sharma, martyr Kushal Konwar's daughter-in-law Yamuna Konwar, Metropolitan Mukti Yodha Sammelan President Kalindra Kumar Barua, General Secretary Dwijendra Mohan Sharma, Secretary Kamal Chandra Lahkar and other officials of the conference and officers and employees of the district administration were present.
