Guwahati, 15 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma paid tribute to Kushal Konwar, the great son of Assam, who was martyred during the Quit India Movement 1942, on his death anniversary. The Chief Minister described him as a unique and inspiring example of patriotism.
The Chief Minister said, The loyalty and love that a son had for his motherland inspires us even today. We always remember his sacrifice and dedication with respect.
He said that the sacrifice and patriotism of Martyr Kushal Konwar was read in the history of the freedom struggle. Through a poem by Laxyadhar Choudhary, we imbibed his patriotism. Today on his death anniversary, I pay tribute to him through the lines of the same poem.
This message of the Chief Minister expresses the state's deep gratitude and respect towards Martyr Kushal Konwar.
