Goalpara (Assam), 15 June (HS): After the incident of beef being found in Hanuman temple in Dhubri district of Lower Assam for two consecutive days, beef was once again found near a Kali temple complex in Goalpara district of Lower Assam on Sunday.

Goalpara (Assam), 15 June (HS): After the incident of beef being found in Hanuman temple in Dhubri district of Lower Assam for two consecutive days, beef was once again found near a Kali temple complex in Goalpara district of Lower Assam on Sunday.

This time beef has been recovered from near a Kali temple complex located in Khakilamari Das Para of Laxmipur city under Goalpara district. As soon as information was received from the local people, the Laxmipur police team reached the spot and recovered the beef and started investigating the whole matter. Due to this incident, a situation of tension has arisen in the entire Laxmipur area.

Meanwhile, Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL) Director Dr. Prakash Kashyap also reached the spot and took information about the situation. He has demanded from the police and district administration to investigate the whole matter at a fast pace and catch the culprits and give appropriate punishment.

It is noteworthy that from the second day of Bakrid, criminal elements are trying to hurt religious sentiments in lower Assam, mainly in Dhubri and now in Goalpara district. In view of the seriousness of the incident, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Dhubri district last Thursday and directed to take strict action against the criminal elements. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the police have arrested more than 38 criminal elements in Dhubri district. -----------
