Bankura, 15 June (H.S.)

Tension prevailed in Bankura after the West Bengal Police was accused of forcibly entering the BJP's Bankura district headquarters at midnight. As per information, the incident took place around 2 am, following which a fierce clash broke out between the police and BJP workers. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari criticised the incident and slammed the state police, alleging that it was acting like a spineless, partisan force under the control of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

Local BJP workers rushed to the spot after receiving information from nearby residents and saw a large police team forcibly opening the main gate of the office.

After that, BJP leaders and supporters argued with the police and sought an explanation. Suvendu Adhikari has shared a video of the incident on Twitter.

After several hours of protest, the police reportedly left the spot. However, BJP workers continued their sit-in inside the office and termed it an unauthorised and politically motivated raid.

According to sources, officers from Bankura Sadar and Khatara police stations were involved in the raid. However, there was no official statement from the police till the time of writing the report.

Some BJP leaders have linked the incident to the attack on Tuhin Mandi, husband of state food supplies minister Jyotsna Mandi, at Khatra on Friday night. They suspect that the raid was part of an investigation related to that attack.

The BJP staged a massive protest in Bankura town on Sunday, alleging political vendetta and misuse of the police machinery.

Suvendu Adhikari condemned the incident and accused the Bengal police of being under “Mamata Banerjee’s slippers”.

Suvendu Adhikari wrote on X, “The WB Police under the 'slippers' of Mamata Banerjee, have once again exposed their true colors as a spineless, partisan force that serves as a puppet of the ruling regime.

Last night, at around 2 AM, Officers from Khatra and Bankura Police Stations descended upon the Bankura District BJP Party Office like thieves and dacoits, attempting to break the gate and barge in under the cover of darkness. This shameless display of so-called power was met with fierce resistance from our brave BJP Karyakartas and local Leaders, who stood firm against this cowardly act of intimidation.

Is this what Mamata Police have been reduced to; sneaking around in the dead of night to harass opposition workers while turning a blind eye to the real criminals?, he asked

Where is this bravado when it comes to taking action against TMC’s notorious 'lumpen' Anubrata Mondal? This is the same Police force that cowers when faced with TMC goons and their lawless antics. Just weeks ago, an audio clip surfaced of Mondal hurling vile abuses and threats at Bolpur’s Inspector-in-Charge, targeting his wife and mother with obscene remarks. Yet, what did the SPINELESS Police do? NOTHING.

One can't forget the SURRENDER gesture made by the Mamata Police in Maheshtala a couple of days earlier waving white handkerchief towards the stone pelting Jihadists. Bloody Cowards.

During the recent Anti Hindu violence in Murshidabad, where mobs vandalized shops and homes, used crude bombs, and attacked Police vehicles, rather than cracking down on these miscreants, when faced with Jihadist rioters, Mamata Police either took refuge in shops.

They have a history of hiding under tables, with files on their heads as cover, too afraid to act against those TMC Goons who invade the Police Stations.

The people of Bengal deserve better than a Police force that flexes its muscle against the Opposition and commoners but turns tail when confronted by TMC’s goons or other lawbreakers who are under the shelter of the TMC Party.

This is not Law Enforcement, it’s a act staged by Clowns, who have lost all respect from the People of West Bengal.

I condemn this attempt to illegally enter the BJP4 Bengal Party Office at night without valid reasons and documents.

Shame on you WB Police, he added.
