New Delhi, June 13 (H.S.): The hearing of the Kanjhawala hit and run case has been postponed due to the unavailability of Additional Sessions Judge Rajinder Kumar at Delhi's Rohini Court. The next hearing in the case will be on July 24. The court had on July 27, 2023, ordered the framing of charges against four accused—Amit Khanna, Manoj Mittal, Mithun, and Krishna—under sections 302, 120B, 201, 212, and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code. The Rohini court also ordered the framing of charges against three other accused—Deepak Khanna, Ankush, and Ashutosh—under sections 201, 212, 182, 34, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code.Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet in this case on April 1, 2023. The Delhi Police submitted an 800-page charge sheet which includes 120 witnesses. Ankush Khanna is the brother of accused Amit Khanna. Ashutosh Bhardwaj is the owner of the car that dragged Anjali, leading to her death. Ashutosh is accused of attempting to protect the other accused. The seventh accused, Ankush Khanna, is another brother of Amit Khanna.According to the police, during the interrogation, it was revealed that Amit was driving the car and did not have a driving license. As per the FIR, Deepak initially told the police that he was driving the car and Manoj Mittal was in the passenger seat next to him, while Amit, Krishna, and Mithun were seated in the back.On January 2, 2023, the police arrested accused Manoj Mittal, Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishna, and Mithun in this case. They are accused of hitting a young woman on a scooter with their car and dragging her for 13 kilometers. During this time, the woman remained trapped inside the car. All her bones were shattered and she was left with no clothes on her body. Both of her legs, along with her head and other body parts, were severely crushed.
