01 June (HS): A canter loaded with goats hit a divider and overturned. In the

accident, three people died on the spot, while three others were injured. Their

companions were in a tractor-trolley, which was also hit by another canter, in

which one died and three were injured. On June 1 at 3.30 in the morning, a

canter loaded with goats went out of control and hit a divider on the

Aligarh-Delhi Highway under Thana Gabhana. Another canter hit the

tractor-trolley. In both the accidents, four people from Etah, including a

father-son, died. Six people were injured.

Police

station in-charge Vinay Kumar said that cattle traders from Marhara town of

Etah were going to Delhi with some people to sell goats, sheep in two canters.

There were six people in one canter and five in the other. A canter loaded with

goats going ahead reached near village Bhukrauli on Gabhana highway, when the

speeding canter lost control and collided with the divider. Six people sitting

on top of the canter fell down with a jerk, in which Hazari Lal (65) died on

the spot, while his son Amar Singh (32) and Harishchandra resident of Marhara

Etah were declared dead in the medical college. Vimal, Satendra and Guddu were

injured in this accident.

The

second accident happened near Bhakri village on the highway, three kilometers

before the accident site. Their companions going to the accident site by taking

a lift in a tractor-trolley, when another canter hit the tractor-trolley, in

which Roopendra resident Marhara Etah died. Yashveer, Maharaj Singh and Deepak

were injured. Two of the injured have been admitted to the district hospital

and the rest to JN Medical College.
