Lalitpur,
01 June (HS): Rs. 30,000 has been found from former MP Rizwan Zaheer who is
lodged in Lalitpur jail. Former MP Rizwan is also using sweets, cream, oil,
Dunlop mattress, desi ghee etc. for himself. Secretary of Legal Services
Authority Mayank Jaiswal has given this information to the journalists.
Secretary
of Legal Services Authority Mayank Jaiswal told reporters on Sunday that he had
conducted a raid in Lalitpur jail and during this a lot of equipment was found
in a barrack. Former MP Rizwan Zaheer is locked up in this barrack and Rs.
30,000 were recovered from under his mattress. The former MP keeps expensive
items for his use. The jail administration is also providing him VIP facilities
in the barrack.
According
to the information, former MP Rizwan Zaheer is currently lodged in Lalitpur
jail on charges of conspiracy to murder former president of Nagar Panchayat
Tulsipur Firoz Ahmed in Balrampur district. UP Police has imposed Gangster Act
against him, while he is languishing in District Jail Lalitpur since the year
2022.
Former
Balrampur MP Rizwan Zaheer, accused of conspiracy to murder, was being given
VIP facilities in the district jail. Branded food items were found in his
barrack. Rs 30,000 also found under the
pillow. This was revealed during the inspection of the jail by District Legal
Services Authority Secretary Mayank Jaiswal. When he questioned the jail
superintendent in this regard, he could not give any answer. On the
instructions of District Judge Narendra Kumar Jha, District Legal Services Authority
Secretary Mayank Jaiswal inspected the district jail at 10.45 am. When he went
to barrack number 5A of the jail, the facilities there were VIP. Dunlop
mattress, pillow, battery fan, desi ghee, pickles, sweets, good crockery,
tiffin, branded oil, soap, shampoo, cream etc. were kept. On enquiry, it was
found that former Balrampur MP Rizwan Zaheer has been kept in this barrack. A
bundle of Rs 500 was also kept under the pillow. Four other prisoners in the
barrack were found eating dal in a bowl on the floor and roti in a plastic
sheet. There were marks of gutkha spit on the walls of barrack number 5A. A
large number of tobacco and gutkha pouches were lying outside.
