01 June (HS): BSP head Mayawati underlined the urgent need for Uttar Pradesh's
new Director General of Police to handle law and order issues. She cited the state's problems with feudal
and criminal supremacy, which harmed social cohesion and caused societal
instability. Mayawati advocated state
collaboration while questioning Uttar Pradesh's role in India's growth. Mayawati, the president of the Bahujan Samaj
Party, has urged Uttar Pradesh's newly appointed Director General of Police to
solve critical law and order issues. She
expressed worry about the state's continued feudal and criminal domination,
which exacerbates caste-based and communal conflicts. Her statements came after Rajeev Krishna was
appointed as acting DGP, implying that Uttar Pradesh's present legal system is
faulty. Mayawati emphasized the impact
on community cohesion and encouraged the state's officials to ensure law
enforcement.
She emphasized Uttar Pradesh's potential
contribution to India's prosperity and questioned if current law and order
challenges benefit the people or the nation.
