Itanagar, 1 June (HS): The Indian Air Force carried out an important Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) mission on Sunday morning and safely rescued 14 people trapped in floods in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh.
This mission was started on the request received from the state governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. These people trapped in the middle of the Bomjir river were completely cut off from the mainland. In view of the seriousness of the situation, relief and rescue operations were carried out through MI-17 helicopters.
The Indian Air Force showed promptness and took all the people to a safe place. The local administration and citizens have expressed their gratitude to the Air Force for this operation.
