May (HS): Bhandara police have registered a case of harassment for dowry against

Nagpur’s Dekate family within one month of the marriage.

Bhandara’s

Pratik Tamboli’s daughter Vaibhavi and Nagpur’s Abishek Dekate tied the nuptial

knot about a month ago. The Tamboli family was told that Abhishek does not have any

business and is earning Rs 7 to Rs 10 lakh annually. After the marriage, Vaibhavi

found that Abhishek does not have any business and is dependent on his parents.

He was also an alcohol addict.

Upon enquiry

with the in-laws, Vaibhavi was threatened by the in-laws. Abhishek and his father

demanded Rs 5 lakh from Vaibhavi’s father, threatening that they have a connection

with the Naxalites. If they lodge any complaint with the police, they will have

to face serious consequences.

Vaibhavi’s ornaments

were removed by her mother-in-law and Abhishek’s sister.

Bhandara

police have registered a case under various sections and are investigating.
