Guwahati, 27 February (HS): The Assam government has suspended Masum Yusuf Ahmed, the Revenue Circle Officer of Patacharkuchi in Bajali district, over allegations of misconduct and violation of service rules.
An official order states that Ahmed was allegedly engaged in private employment while serving as a full-time government official. This act violates the Assam Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965. Following an inquiry by the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell, disciplinary action was initiated against him.
To maintain the integrity of public service, the Governor of Assam approved his immediate suspension. The action is taken under Rule 6(1) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964. His suspension will remain in force until the completion of a departmental proceeding.
Meanwhile, authorities have designated Guwahati as Ahmed's headquarters for the suspension period, as per official directives.
