Delhi, 22 February (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 98th All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi on February 21. During this, in his address.PM Modi praised the efforts of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)for nation building.

PM Modi said it has been conducting “a sacred cultural ritual to take India’s great tradition and culture to the new generation”. The organisation, he said, had inspired “lakhs like me” to “live for our country”.Modi said it was due to the RSS he had the “good fortune of getting affiliated with Marathi culture and language”.

This conference was organized to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji and the completion of 100 years of the establishment of RSS.

He said, Maharashtra and Mumbai play an important role in raising the status of Marathi films along with Hindi films. The new film, Chhava, is making headlines everywhere right now. Many saints of Maharashtra showed a new direction to the society in Marathi language through the Bhakti movement. During the long period of hundreds of years of slavery, Marathi language also became a slogan of freedom from invaders.
