NEW DELHI, 22 February (H.S.) : Eight corporation

councilors and one nominated member of BJP have resigned from the post of

councilor after being elected in the Delhi assembly. Now the number of BJP

councilors become 116, whereas after the resignation of three councilors of the

AAP, the number of its corporation councilors has now come down to 114. This

makes it clear that ruling Aam Aadmi Party is now minority. BJP government will

soon be formed in MCD also, Leader of Opposition in MCD claimed. Delhi

Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Raja Iqbal Singh said, the Municipal

Commissioner has to present the budget before the Standing Committee by 10th

December. Even after all the members of the Standing Committee were elected,

the AAP government did not constitute the committee. Due to which the Municipal

Commissioner had to present the budget in the House after taking approval from

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

He said that by not

forming a standing committee, the AAP government has stopped the development

works, Delhi has been set back ten years. Leader of Opposition said that ever

since the AAP government came to power, it has flouted the Corporation Act. Formation

of standing committee is also pending. Therefore, the Municipal Commissioner

was forced to present the budget directly in the House. He said, BJP will take

over the MCD very Soon and we will work for people.
