NEW DELHI, 22 February (H.S.) : Former RBI Governor
Shaktikanta Das gets big responsibility, appointed Principal Secretary to PM
Modi. Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das appointed as the
second Principal Secretary to PM Narendra Modi on Saturday. Shaktikanta Das has
been the Governor of Reserve Bank of India for about 6 years. He retired after
completing his tenure in December last year. After a few months of retirement,
he is going to get a big responsibility. At present Pramod Kumar Mishra (PK
Mishra) is the Principal Secretary-1 to the PM. Shaktikanta Das will now be in
the role of Principal Secretary-2. Shaktikanta Das is a retired Indian
Administrative Service officer of 1980 batch.
As per the notification of
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Das's appointment will be
concurrent with the tenure of the Prime Minister or until further orders,
whichever is earlier. The ACC order states that he will work as Principal
Secretary to the Prime Minister along with Dr. PK Mishra, Principal Secretary
to Prime Minister-1.
