Next edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle (cycle rally) to be organised on Dec 7


Varanasi, 6 Dec

(HS): There is excitement among

sportspersons as well as sports lovers about hosting the Commonwealth Games

2030 in India. To commemorate this, the next edition of Fit India Sundays on

Cycle (cycle rally) will be organised in the holy city of Varanasi on Sunday,

December 7. Private security guards will also participate in this event as

special partners. State AYUSH Minister Dr. Dayashankar Mishra 'Dayalu' will be

attending the rally as the chief guest. This event is also a symbol of the

national importance of the fitness movement and the ever-evolving cultural

heritage of Kashi.

According to administrative

officials, Padma Bhushan Pandit Sajan Mishra (classical singer of Banaras

Gharana), Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra (President, Sankat Mochan Foundation),

Sanju Sahaj – renowned tabla player of the Banaras Gharana, Sunil Singh –

Indian weightlifter, silver medalist at the Asian Youth Weightlifting

Championship 2025, Divya Singh – former captain of the Indian women's

basketball team, a player from Varanasi, Pratima Singh – former Indian

basketball player, part of the Singh Sisters, Pooja Sihag – Indian

freestyle wrestler, bronze medalist at the Commonwealth Games 2022, Priyanka

Goswami – Olympian, silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games 2022, and India's

leading racewalker, will also participate.

This edition will also

include national-level fitness sessions, Zumba, dance, and yoga. A large number

of citizens, students, security personnel, and cultural enthusiasts will

participate. Fit India Sundays on Cycles was launched in December 2024 under

the guidance of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and

Sports. This initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message

Fitness ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz and War against

Obesity.
